Dr Alexandra Rees BSc DVM MANZCVS (Eq Dent) GradDip AnBioMed

Dr Alex Rees is the veterinarian behind In Stride Veterinary Services, offering comprehensive, evidence-based care for horses with lameness, performance limitations, and complex biomechanical concerns. With over seven years of dedicated equine practice across Australia and the United States, Alex combines advanced diagnostics with skilled, hands-on therapeutic treatment.

Alex is a Member of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP), an internationally-recognised organisation at the forefront of equine lameness and biomechanics. She has completed five ISELP modules and is currently working towards full certification, providing her with advanced training in sport-horse locomotion, orthopaedic pathology, and performance-limiting conditions.

She also holds Australia’s only recognised postgraduate qualification in Animal Biomechanical Medicine, integrating veterinary chiropractic and osteopathic techniques for animals. This extensive training included over 256 hours of practical instruction and more than 120 hours of theory, with hands-on clinical application in both horses and dogs.

In addition to this, Alex is also a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Dentistry, reflecting advanced knowledge in the diagnosis and management of dental disease, particularly in performance horses where oral pathology may impact comfort, behaviour, and athletic output.

In 2025, Alex is further expanding her integrative skillset through completion of her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture with Chi University, incorporating principles of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine into tailored, multimodal treatment plans.

At In Stride Veterinary Services, Dr Alex brings together sports medicine, biomechanics, dentistry, acupuncture, and integrative rehabilitation to provide individualised, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

She welcomes the opportunity to support you in helping your horse move comfortably, perform optimally, and maintain long-term soundness.
